Post by: Long_Cast on October 19, 2013, 07:35:35 PM
Anyone here had success with using lures such as pink Buzz Bombs for cohos?

I think I'll try out my pink Buzz Bomb for tomorrow.

I haven't hooked a salmon since September.

Do you need to add a float and weight when using spoon?

I've caught chums, cohos and pinks using the same spoon and same cast and retrieve this year.  No float is required.

Often times, I think it is more about the action you put on the lure than the colour...

No, just attach it directly to your line.  Cast it out, wait long enough for it to sink to a level you think the fish are sitting at, and retrieve it slowly.

Rod has some good videos showing how to cast spoons, you should watch them.
