Title: Chilliwack River, October 16th 2013
Post by: dave c on October 16, 2013, 07:57:02 PM
After a disappointing day mid-river on the 15th headed to the canal today, with much better results. Fished the morning tide landed 1 buck chum and 4 coho (2 wild 2 hatch).  Lots of guys into fish. One guy was tossing spoons and landed 9 (one hatch). Saw another limit out.  Blades were the hot ticket.  Jigs worked well for me.

There isn't a shortage of coho salmon throughout the system right now, and the quality of fish being caught is also excellent. What's even more impressive is seeing most anglers specifically targeting coho salmon by float fishing with roe, spincasting lures and stripping flies. As water steadily drops, fishing should remain good for awhile.
