limited out, got into a dozen or so, all chromers. Witnessed 2 fellas Foul hooking cohos in the tail/back and having the nerv to bonk them infront of me like it was no big deal.If your going to pull that cupcakes dont make it so obvious! I sorta snapped and made them aware I knew what was up. They took their fish and moved on  ;D  thats my rant for the day.  Happy thanks giving.      Tight lines be with you.

"if you're going to pull that don't make it so obvious"...sorry maybe you aren't conveying your thoughts properly but that makes it sound like you condone snagging/poach...as long as its discreet by the sound of it?

I wouldn't let them bonk a single foul hooked fish without an ear full and a call to RAPP...come on people, DFO can't be everywhere at once.

I usually don't say too much if the people committing the offense are there in numbers. Few pictures and call to RAPP should suffice; you have to remember to ensure your safety at all times. People are crazy.

Agree, especially when no one is around

Nice Coho - well done. I just don't care for that marinade you have them soaking in.  :o

doesnt matter what i believe and dont believe in, 99% of the fish bonked in this river are flossed in some way or another from my observations over the years.(meat harvest) the point of my reply was stating i observed 2 gentlemean pulling some shady stuff. DFO doesnt do much on the river to police it so others shouldnt be afraid to say something once in a while.

To make you feel better, here's a pic of a spring I caught ( and bonked) on Thanksgiving Monday that is in the remaining 1%. It snapped at my single egg imitation so eagerly that it almost yanked the rod out of my hand.

Not a big chinook by any standards (12.5 pounds), but so bright that a dude ran yelling towards me to prevent me from bonking it, thinking I was about to dispatch a wild coho.  ::) I had to give him a little lesson on fish ID. LOL! :D
The added bonus is that it was a marbled buck and it had an ocean freshness taste to it -not a common catch on the Vedder. :)

Now if my finances were also in the 1%... :(

Milo, it doesn't really look 12.5 unless you have bear paws... which I understand you do  ;)  ;D

Nice bullet of Chinook you got there Milo!  We've seen a few nice springs out there for sure.

Sure, why not? I am quite proud of my vintage ABU reel collection.

Milo, it doesn't really look 12.5 unless you have bear paws... which I understand you do  ;)  ;D

If you look closely, the fish is angled in the pic, making it look shorter than it really was. It weighed 10.5 pounds fully gutted on my kitchen scale. And yes, I can be mistaken  for a bear when I wear all black.   ;D

Nice bullet of Chinook you got there Milo!  We've seen a few nice springs out there for sure.

Yes, there are a few. But my observation is that the big ones turn much more quickly than the smaller guys. I don't remember when I last pulled a bullet chrome tyee out of the Vedder. It's been many years now.
