Title: Chilliwack River, October 13th 2013
Post by: BCfisherman97 on October 13, 2013, 07:45:35 PM: All four of us limited out by 10:45 today. Blades and roe produced, but all of my hatchery fish were on blades. Got lucky with the bigger fish of our group, my dad didnt do too bad either-

Post by: BCfisherman97 on October 13, 2013, 08:20:45 PM: Don't know the exact blade size as I make my own and I just don't seem to remember. 2 were on silver an the rest were on brass (usually only have confidence in silver). Brass blue fox was on fire after, 1 chinook, 1 chum, 2 wild coho, 6 hatcheries and a few more lost. Spinning rod with a blue fox, jigging small spoons or twitching jigs, couldn't go wrong. Blades out fished roe today. After limiting out, experimented with various thing on the spinning outfit, so simple but so effective.

Post by: NiceFish on October 13, 2013, 09:38:21 PM: Nice work. Never caught a coho in the vedder on a spinner or spoon after all these years; I must fish them incorrectly or something. Only jigs and roe seem to work for me. Nice haul, limiting out. Was out on friday in a usually deadly spot all to myself with nothing to show for it. The luck isn't with me this year.

First day on the Vedder this salmon season, figured I'd only fish a few hours in the afternoon as 1) I didn't want to get to a prime spot first light and then get beaked out like always and 2) I don't find time of day matters for Vedder coho. Slept till 11, got out at noon, found a spot by 1.

Buddy and I got 6 coho by 2:30ish on spoons, along with a few chinook. Off the river by 3. Couldn't believe we had a run to ourselves. Probably try tomorrow first light even though it's probably a bad idea (because of reason 1, and sleep is always nice).

IMO a better fight on light spinning gear, they don't need to drag around fly line in the fight then!
Definitely a great way to fish steel!!!
