well low tide early morning meant the dyke gates would be open to let the salmon into the river so headed out somewhere between 160th and 168th around 7:45 am. a bit of hiking needed. threw everything but the kitchen sink and nothing. had an idea. changed my colorado blade chrome gammy hook to a smaller RED gammy hook and two casts later had this female hatch on the bank. 1 limit allowed so 9:00 am packed up and went home. roe is being boraxed as we speak. Good luck out there.

Were you just casting and retrieving the blade or floating it? Are the gates not always open?

slow retrieve...3 second delay after cast. 1 split shot with 10lb test leader. a little risky with all those big springs in there but thats the chance you take. dykes open during low tide to let fresh water out.
