Fished south arm of the river this morning. Arrived around 7 and there were already 20 or so cars ahead of me!!!
Much better fishing today, fished an hour and left with three nice fish - didn't really want/need any more. Lost two and missed a couple of bites. Everyone either side of me had at least one fish landed and a couple missed.
Saw my first snagger today. An amateur at that: single hook. Called him on it and he snuck away muttering at me.
Tight lines folks, see you out there tomorrow.

Great! Finally an encouraging report. Thanks.

I heard a rumor that the commercial fishery is shut down this weekend. That ought to help!

Went out this morning, arrived at the river around 6:30. Landed 4 and lost 4 all females. Everyone around me were catching fish also. Alot better this morning.

The wife got a nice doe this morning on a pink spoon - I joined her for about an hour after high tide and didn't get any action. But saw lots more fish rolling through which is very encouraging. Next 2 weeks should stellar fishing!

Fished a couple hours till dark in Langley. A few rolling, none biting

Fished 3:30. to 6:30 south Richmond. Tons of fish showing until 5:30 then gone. Saw one caught and a couple lost from shore. Three young fellows in a boat out about 100 yards caught at least 3. Nothing for me. Tried spoons, spinners under a float, jigs under a float. Nada. Buddy had one on briefly. Most nearby were chucking spoons way out without success. Need somebody to show me how it is done. Fly rod tomorrow, maybe that will work.

Seine boats out in full force in the chuck

Brownsville Bar, decide to have a look as i haven't been there in years.
Mass schools of pinks for 2 hours during the morning tide { so i was told} and again for about 2 more hours in the late afternoon. Lots of down time between the two heavy bite times though, that's unless your one of the two hipster beaks in their designer jeans I saw down there, who uses seriously over-sized buzz bombs and has fun snagging them in the back, tail, side of the head etc etc. >:( >:(
So many fish going by in the time i was there {4 til 7 pm} that even a caveman using a rod could have caught a fish there today
Some days I feel like just kickin some serious butt out there when i see this crap but then i would be lowering myself to their level so ............

Morning was better either side of the tide change. I got this beauty and few others at the top end of Cresent Island.

By 11 am it was like a switch was thrown and although rises were still visible, biters were much harder to find. Visibility sucked as well for us fly fishing(less than a foot). Spinners and spoons seemed do ok though.
