Hey guys I want to get a new fly rod I want to go a step or few steps higher.
i currently have a reddington cross water 8 Wt. I mostly go for salmon any types and I do catch trout but hard to feel the bites on a 8WT for trout lol
So as I said I wanna go a step higher or even a few .
I only have 350 dollers I can't buy anything over that so what are the suggestions and what you've liked ? Thanks Guys
What would be better going in a fly fishing specially shop? Or any fishing and tackle shop? Also this may be a stupid question is Spey a type of cast for fly fishing ? Thanks

Check out G loomis pro 4x. It seems to be a good rod from number of reviews. I have not tried it yet but getring one as a replacememt rod from Gloomis for my broken Gloomis Experience.
The price I think is in your budget range.

Dude!
You REALLY need to stop posting after just wacking away at the keyboard for 10 seconds. Stop, think about what you are trying to say, make one point at a time, and USE PERIODS! Your sentences are blending together and I cant understand what you are trying to say. Not trying to be rude, but its hard to help you if you arent being understood.
"I don't have a budget of 350$ just for rod"
This. You dont have a budget? You have a budget of 350 for just the rod?
You didnt even say what your Crosswater is. A 4 weight? A 7 weight? What? It may be good enough for salmon.
"I woman's
Buy"
Thats a whole other issue I dont want to touch!
For salmon, Im fishing a 7 weight Redington Pursuit. I got mine for $120, and for the price its amazing.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
thanks for the laugh

160 dollar reel means nothing...a good suggestion for rods is try before you buy. I have burned myself by buying things I thinking I would like them. Long story short, took me a painstaking trial and error and money invested until I found my "style".

.
Now I get it ;)
-
I heard good reviews on the reel and I tested the rod out casted it lol
-
The reel I bought how is it ?
Lamson konic 4 reel II
-
anything made by Lamson is good. I used to own a Guru. your reel is anodized and has the sealed drag, pretty hard to beat it at that price

Hey hook how About my
Rod?? I tried it today felt pretty good but I didn't have a leader on oy
The floating line and the sinking tip
-
I'm not even at the river casting I'm having fun casting on drive way haha
-
I have never cast that rod so its hard to say from a personal stand point. I have however cast a few Boron's and another lineup of theirs I cant recall and they were both very nice but I shy'd away from the price tag. I would bet your rod is no different and very nice. I would say you've got yourself an extremely solid setup that wont need any upgrading anytime in the future ;D
you make me cringe however casting your line on the driveway, please do it on grass at least so you don't destroy the coating on the line extremely fast.
Whereabouts are you located, Surrey/Langley/Delta ?? I could possibly come help your learning curve with casting
-
ya by driveway I meant grass lol I live in surrey

Hey Dan,
where did you get your Redington? I've looked at 3 shops so far that don't carry them.

I got my Redington Pursuit 7100 at Wholesale Sports. I ordered online but I have seen them in the store here in Langley

yes, I had to get both my 4 and 7 from wholesale in Langley. I would prefer to support my small shops, but as you said, no where has them
