Does anyone know where you can launch your boat into the lake publicly? I have seen people using this one place but it seems like there is a gate. Friend told me that people in the area are given key to the gate. Wondering if people knew if your allowed to use that or know alternative places to launch.

The only public way is to carry your boat in.Easiest way is through the park on the west side of the lake(forgot the name).

Are you talking about nelson park or something? Cant really carry my tin boat down that hill. Its too much work

Yes,Nelson park. You can use the trailer park launch if you know someone who lives there.

there is a run down dock/boat launch on the south side in the marsh. the marsh connects to the lake but it may be shallow and weedy. its the road parallel with lougheed.
let us know if you make it out and how's the lake was. :)

I was out there last sunday. Water was very low. We launched at a bridge along south area but it was a dreadful ride meaning we had to paddle out of the shallow water for 30mins before we could use the engine. Fishing was medicore because the amount of pressure on that lake made it hard to find a place that fish was holding that no one was fishing and the fish we caught were small. I think dusk and dawn would produce better fishing but getting your boat out and on the water during those hours seem like a pain in the my friend. I saw two boats where they were using the resident area launch. Would just want to know if that was open to the public

Sad - that trailer park was a campground when I was a kid. Learned to fish (and to love fishing) on the dock there.... Not to mention the TONS of cray fish that were abundant.... great fun back in the 1800's ;)
