Whats everyones experiences with these hatchery fish? Thinking of giving it a try wouldn't mind some advice if at possible.

First light, roe and a holding spot.

Where can you target them? Is the Vedder all thats open right now?

The Chehalis but not as productive as the Vedder/Chilliwack, especially for a beginner.

lucky to be 400 fish in the whole river, 10 that will bite. Like Steelheadn in December with a tan 8)

Because you will get a pair of hard boiled eggs in the sun like this.
If you can get away without using waders it would make this more enjoyable.
Or stand in the water the whole time. Perhaps a pair of hip waders with light socks with shorts would be nice.

On really hot days, especially on the Thompson, ill just wear felt sole wading boots with thick wool socks and shorts.

Haha! Very true! I was out today on the Vedder. I elected to just wear shorts and old runners. My buddy wore waders and he was dying! However he did have a lot more grip on the rocks with his felt soled boots compared to my runners. We hit on run were you had to wade out a bit say up to your knees. After a while my legs and feet were getting cold. Waders would have been nice here. For most spots I agree they're not needed.
I'd wear my wading boots but they are way too big without the neoprene booties in them. I think down the road I'd like to get some chap style waders that just come up to your crotch. I've seen guys with the kind that have booties to go in your wading boots. The kind from Crappy Tire with the rubber boots on the bottom suck. I'd rather just wear old runners and have slightly cold legs!

when your waders have past their prime then just cut off the booties and wear those in your wading boots like socks. Also wear a thin sock though cause the neoprene will rub against bare skin causing blisters if your walking a lot. You could always skip doing this and buy wet wading socks that are made to wear in your wading boots without waders. I myself just wear sandals and suffer the numbness after awhile but I do think I will grab a pair of wet wading socks

for the early morning waders are nice, any time after and it generally just to hot out

I was just out on the Vedder yesterday. You definitely want to keep you feet in the water with waders :)
I fished the high rived in the morning but didn't get a bite. One guys landed and released a Sockeye.
I also tried the lower rived around lunch time. No luck there neither but by that time even if there were fish they wouldn't bite anyway. I heard someone had better luck earlier in the morning tho.
