I am.  Heading there next week.  Just trying to decide whether or not to bring the extra bits and pieces (ie. boilies, baiting needles, bolt rig weights, etc).  I'm already bringing 4 rods and 2 backpacks worth of gear, on top of the daily life essentials for 4 days of fishing lol.  If anybody actually knows whether or not there are carp in that lake, it'd save me some space.

There are lots of species in Saint Mary's, but in all my years I've never seen Carp.

Good to know.  I'll go off that info unless someone says/proves otherwise :)

Pretty sure there are no carp in St Mary Lake. I don't think you have to worry about having too much time and need to find another species to target. Four days is almost not enough to enjoy what St Mary Lake has to offer. You're going to be busy trying to find the big bass as well as big cutthroat trout.

Thanks Rodney.  Yeah, that's what I figured, but the carp fishing was more for during dinner hour when I can just set the rod on autopilot while I eat lol

Hey HK,
Parents retired to lake front property on St Mary's and lived there for 27 years and all I ever caught on my visits were big trout and big bass, zero Carp!!

Thanks Jimmy!  Looks like I'll just have to "settle" for big trout and big bass lol  ;D

What'd you use for each type of fishing?

Casting flies, slow troll flies
Fished close to shore

Black Buggers with gold bead head and little flash.
Black with red has always worked well for me at St.Mary lake.
