I had a reasonably good, but short day yesterday at the lake, spent more time driving than actually fishing. I was just glad to be able to get out after not being able to fish on all those sunny days in the past two weeks. :-\
Fished from 1:00pm until 3:30pm. They were quite active in the shallow water. I was just casting Gibbs Croc spoons, 1/16oz silver with orange stripe. The first two dozen casts produced four cutthroat trout that ranged between 16 and 20 inches long. The rest of the time I had a couple of smaller rainbows on before the Southerly wind blew us off the lake.
Water temperature was surprisingly higher than I expected, 60F/15C. Good luck to those who decide to venture out.

You must have been the float tuber near the boat launch when I was getting ready at around 1pm? I spent a short amount of time covering that area before moving away and managed to find a fish right away there. Fishing appears to be pretty good, looking forward to go back at least one more time this spring.

I was in a rented canoe, stayed in shore around a large boulder to the left of lakeside park. It was my first time there i only had a small spinning setup, i thought i would just try off the floating dock but after 2 casts realized my chances were slim lol. So we rented a canoe for an hour and had a few on but lost and got 1 to hand about 10 inch cutty. Next time i will be more preppared with an inflatable. It was a good trip for only an hour and not knowing the water

Hey Rod, do you find that with that rod (the tuflite) you have trouble with losing fish because you cant get a great hook set, because the rod has such little backbone? Thats what ive noticed but just wondering if you have that same problem?
Great video by the way!

Yeah that was me, I spent most of my time between the boat launch and the beach. All my landed fish were near the boat launch. Good times!
