Title: Lure Clear Coat
Post by: c-pin on April 28, 2013, 01:39:43 PM
I have some matte silver spoons. They have no clear coat on them and tarnish easily.

I would like to put some coating on to prevent the tarnishing.

Any suggestions what to use? I'm thinking some clear nail polish.

nail polish is not strong enough, use clear gloss poly instead.

I paint my lure in this way: nail polish(colors/patterns) --> gloss clear paint(rust-oleum, spray) --> gloss clear poly.

My wife gave me this stuff called "hard as nails". Works great, I use it to protect painted finishes on my spoons and spinners all the time.
