Hi all,
After watching fishing shows since i was a lad, and years of fantasizing about actually doing it, I've decided that this is my year to take it up. I drove to Sasamat lake last week and caught a couple of nice rainbows within an hour of being there, very nice feeling for sure, released them though for some fish karma as it was my first outing. This weekend I don't have the car so i'm gonna head into Coquitlam early Saturday morning. My question is, which lake would be better, Como or Lafarge? Is there more variety of fish in one than the other? Also, how many of you keep your catch from these lakes? Or any of the more urban lakes for that matter. I have read many conflicting views. Some say never eat them, some say it's fine.
Cheers!

personally I would go to Lafarge as there are more fish released there.
Como is ok but it is getting a lot of weeds and the bottom fish will steal you bait on a regular basis.

thanks EZ,
lafarge it is. Are the fish ok to keep there? It would be nice to bring one home to show the wife i'm actually fishing, not having an affair ;)

Yup, had a nice few hours this morning at Lafarge. Not much action, but caught a nice 12 inch rainbow. Barely any fish broke the surface while I was there, 7.30 - 10.30am.

What did you use?

Bottom rig and power bait.
