After more than a month without touching anything, I was debating whether I should even attempt another trip. I decided after cutting the grass and doing some chores, I grabbed my new license online and packed all my gears.
I got to the lower river around 3:00pm and started fishing. The first half hour produced nothing so I walked all the way down to Bergman. I fished it for an hour without anything to show and the wind started to blow like crazy.
I then decided that maybe Browne might hold some fish since I heard it was good. I fished it for 30 minutes with only a couple guys and nothing.
Well, at this point I decided to go back to the first spot I tried before heading home for the hockey game.

A fly fisher across was working his way down and he asked me what I was using. He suggested roe because the water was a bit murkier today. Since the shadow was on my side of the river he suggested to drift close to shore. Always willing to listen to the veterans of the river, I decided to do just that.
My float drifted a mere few feet when I noticed the slight dip and pause. I quickly retrieved and knew a fish was lurking around. My second cast I held the drift a bit anticipating it to be buried completely. I did not have to wait long as the float just disappeared completely and I set the hook making sure I do not hit the trees behind me. The chrome bar took off and decided to jump a few times. My hook set was good and it was sticking this time. She took a few runs and I noticed that it was a hatchery.
The spot I was fishing was tough to land the fish so I had to slowly grab tree branches and work the fish down a bit to an opening. Finally after a few more runs I was able to slide the fish onto shore. A nice day of fishing!!!!

Cool. I was fishing since a first light today as well but no luck. Visibility was on a poor side in the morning but was improving as the day progressed.
