went to lafarge today and rice lake on last saturday, spent 5 hours on each place and didnt catch anything, not only me, everyone in the lake didnt even get a bit. does anyone know what happen to the lake/fish. Or is it the 1000 fishes are already caught by ppl?

Don't know about Lafarge, but the fish at Rice are biting. The first couple days after stocking I think the water was too cold at Rice, but it's since warmed up nicely. I find the best times are around 10-11 am or after 4 pm (especially on sunny days). Some days they only take powerbait (stationary float set-up) and some days they like to chase. I caught quite a few today by retrieving a fly (5 ft leader) let by a water filled bubble float. You also have to cast quite far or to wherever you see surfacing or else I would have loved to use a 1/8 ounce spinner. The fish at Lafarge are out in the middle of the lake the times I've been there.
There is no way, people take out a thousand fish in 2 weeks.. not Rice anyway and I really highly doubt at Lafarge either. I have no idea where people get this idea that it get's fished out "easily".
The Osprey and Eagles have greater success, and I've been skunked many times before with fish surfacing all around me on some days, while on others they won't stop biting. Good luck, in my opinion.. they're not that easy to catch..

i fish there all the time and the fish are really on the bite for me and caught between few dozen fish in few hrs there since they stocked it last so there is tons of fish in there still. I'm fly fishing on my big yellow boat with buddies usually you probably seen me there all the time LOL. My suggestion get a inflatable boat and troll around with a green leech with bead and you will never leave lafarge without fish again , as i first learned 4 years ago.
Usually i catch and release all the time and couldn't believe i caught a wild cutthroat from lafarge yesterday in pic below LOL! almost looks like brown trout.

do u use sinking/floating line, and how long was ur leader

How would cutthroat enter lafarge lake . I caught like 6 diff species of fish in there mostly the odd kokanne and this was my first ever cutthroat trout and its at lafarge LMAO!!! :o
went to mill lake today and caught 2 broods 1 was 7lb and other was too big to bring in and snap my line over 10lb fish.
caught many rainbows also what an awesome day :)

Might just be my tiny phone screen but the lateral line on that fish very much looks like a bow along with the translucent large blue spots showing behind the darker spots.

I also think that its a small rainbow still showing its youth with the small circles along its body. Bows from the hatchery tend to be very heavily spotted even below their lateral line
