This was a great step. Next step = get the province to pony up for all the money they make off of salmon and steelhead stamps, yet contribute virtually nothing to the management, enhancement and restoration of these populations.

Hopefully the new government that will be coming in will do that.

My understanding is that money (conservation surcharges) goes to the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation which makes it available by an application process to individuals and organizations (including government agencies) who wish to implement enhancement and restoration projects.
