Title: Chilliwack River, March 9th 2013
Post by: liketofish on March 10, 2013, 12:25:45 AM
What a nice day, warm and sunny and the river in prime shape. I started late and met my friend who told me the day before was hot. Oh well, what else is new, always the day after.  ;D

But towards the end of the day, I lucked out with a small hatchery buck.  Could have released it for more fishing but too late anyway. Bonk! Fresh fish for dinner. Water is higher than last week and in top top shape.

I released a 9 lb or so wild yesterday am, no action for me after that but saw a hatchery fish about 12 lbs taken by a guy across from me.

Mine bit on a pink procured coho roe bag, short floated.

Good for you. No fish for me on the fly today, but the river did look good.  Did not seem any higher today, but good visibility with just a tint of colour to keep the fish relaxed.  I saw a number of emerging alevin in the upper reaches so I tried fishing one in a couple of spots, but no trout either.
