I took yesterday off given it was a holiday for most of the guys I do biz with. The river was pretty packed for a Monday...although I had a nice run to myself for a little while in the "mid" lower. Second cast and my float goes for a solid dive half way through the drift, my hook set was a little slow and I missed it (I blame it on weak coffee). Spent the next hour or so working the run given there were plenty of hiding spots. The 3rd or 4th time working down the run I finally found where he was hiding. Hooked a 7lb buck who shot straight up river as soon as I set the hook. I had to reel pretty hard and walk backwards to keep my line tense enough to be respectable. Our little battle was over in about 5min. Given how tough it seems to be out there, decided to keep it for dinner.
For those interested in gear: borax cured steelie roe (from last week), #2 gammy, a little peach wool, 1.5ft 10lb fluoro carbon leader, split shot and zeppler drennan.

Hmmm sarcasm... lol, someone's trolling... can I send the info to jantunen77@gmail.com ?? ;D
I always find it amusing when someone who never reports finds the time to add quality info.
I have a buddy who just started steelheading this year. There is a lot of info I used to take for granted.
