Phone Metro Vancouver at 604-520-6442 to report your concerns and see if they have an answer since they manage Belcarra Regional Park, which includes Sasamat Lake.

They got back really quick to me.the oil film on top of lake is natural, its been tested.they also say this oily film on top happens a few times a year.as for the styrofoam the root of the problem was otters, they digging by the camp grounds pool area where there is a floating dock which they tried to make a home in.
