Went to Mill Lake today as i had a few hours spare
got a few hits but only managed one to the net, well i say net but it would not fit in my net
Yes it was a brood stock,no big fight of course but the hit and the splash that followed was enough to warm me up

Nice job! Were you on a boat or fishing from shore? I've enjoyed mill lake except for the odd crack head wandering around the floating dock.
-
I was in my fat cat and the only one on the water
couple of guys on the far side fishing from shore and two guys setting up to fish from shore just as i was leaving

Love the look on the fishes face LOL :D

Nice job! Yeah, Mill has some big guys loafing around. Took my kayak out there last Saturday before this, and hit on a 22" Brood. Hit a second that I promptly lost. At the time though half the lake was still ice! I was shocked. I assume it is freed up now...

no ice there now

I managed to get 8 of those poor ugly suckers on the 2nd. First trip in my new fat cat (was a sunny gorgeous day, although my feet were ice cold!)
Was tossing a sparkly olive bugger on a type 3 sink tip. Fishing the drop offs in a circle. Im surpised you only managed one. Wondering if it was where you were fishing, or just that they werent on that day. I did notice the water being quite murky Saturday. Maybe it got worse and they turned right off.

I was using a sparkly olive bugger too at one stage
lots of fish on the fish finder
They were down on the bottom
water was cold then too I think they were not moving much

Yeah I can see that. Those hatch brats can be on and off by the day, or the hour. Glad you managed to keep one on at least. Great little lake in the middle of a city, with a mall within a block. Not too shabby for a couple hours when you can manage it!

Good show!

I agree, I like this lake as the water access is great, not too far from where you park
well stocked and never busy (well never when i have been there)
