Title: Vedder River Conditions.
Post by: CohoMan on November 30, 2012, 06:55:31 PM
Anyone know what kind of condition the Vedder River is in today? Thinking of heading out but not sure if the rain did a number or not.

Sometimes it is not easy to read the level. If the freezing level is low, the river usually remains fishable.

But it looks like this rain might just bring it up since the temperature is quite high.

Best way to figure it out is check the weather in Chilliwack and then check the graph. If its warmer than 6 or 7 degrees in the city it will be raining in the hills. I would suspect that with the temps, amount of rain by morning (30-40mm) and with what the graph is doing it will be either fraser brown or on its way there shortly.

Not really. I just ban them before my mind gets to that. ;)

Anyway, if anyone needs their username/handle changed, they are always welcome to email info@fishingwithrod.com to have it done.

I think with the breaks between rain the water will be high but visibility shouldn't be that bad considering.  Plenty of space for the fish to hide

river had about 2ft of visibilty today. Thought it was blown but it was very fishable. Went to the chehalis and almost got trapped with the rising river and was completely unfishable at our local spot. left without getting our lines wet. So we decided to go give the Chilliwack river one more shot. Plus we drove all the way out there might as well fish somewhere right? ;). Was rewarded with a small  hatchery doe and fresh as can be. My buddy landed a gorgeous Bull trout pushing 5+lbs. Biggest one I have seen in a while. Few chums hanging around but well past there prime. Turned out to be a great day for both of us and we didnt rely on the weather forecast just did the old, go to the river  and see how she is. ;D
