Title: Chehalis River, Dewdney Slough & Norrish Creek, November 19th 2012
Post by: Riverman on November 19, 2012, 03:01:54 PM
Started at Norrish first light hoping the night of rain would bring in some freshies. Was good visibility till about 8 am.Then heavy rain brought sudden rise and murk.Visibility 3 minus inches.
Some jacks caught then Nada.Set off for the Chehalis.By 9:30 river was very dirty and running high and fast.Talked to a couple guys who said a couple were caught before it dirtied up.15 cars around the bridge only one angler.Crappy day to hike the canyon.Long walk in lower turned into very long walk with no coho in sight.Back to confluence of Dewdney and Norrish as I thought possibly water might be clearer here as was at Deroche. No such luck as pump off was muddying it here as well.Nice drive ,excercise equivalent to two rounds of golf.Alas I think we will have to wait for steelhead now.

feeling the same way, tidying up my salmon gear and looking towards steel.
But it's always a good time on the river fish or not

Thanks for the report.
Somehow it makes me feel less miserable about not being able to head out.  :o
