Was out this morning fishing the mid to lower portion and only managed to briefly connect with what was probably a Chum. Beautiful morning, but cold and as the morning wore on, the wind picked up and then it was downright freezing. Did a fair bid of leg work but to no avail by midday but hey, that's fishing. It was enjoyable. Few people on the river and fewer fish still. What a difference a few days make because on Monday, it was on fire because I stopped fishing out of exhaustion from fighting chrome bright chum after chum. I have never caught chum this bright, but not today.
Did anyone else had a better morning out there today and if so, which general area were you guys fishing?

I fished lower this afternoon from about noon to dusk. You're right not many chum coming through but still managed to beach a small coho.
About an hour before sunset some chum pushed into the run I was fishing and managed to play with a couple.

I was fishing the Chilliwack River yesterday and it seemed like the chums are still there in good numbers, hooked 7-8 chum and 4 wild coho. No hatchery beached and the wilds were quite coloured already. Defenitely slowing down for the hoes.

Spent the day today on my usual coho haunts (mostly fly fishing water).
Didn't see a fish, didn't touch a fish, and neither did anybody else i talked to or fished with.
The cold was brutal in the morning.
It may well have been my last trip to the Cheddar this year.
Time to check out some other flows.

I fished the upper today from 1 to 5. Used fresh roe. I had 1 on (didn't see what it was) for about 30 seconds before losing it. That was it for my day. Saw a few clean chum rise. Not many anglers out today.

Last trip to the vedder today. six hrs of fishing between me and my bud, 4cohoes lost, one that was quite huge, ugh!
Hooked a few chums, but not worth waiting in for the huge gaps when they move.
Hate to admit it, but might be time to say good season, and wait for cold and steel!!!!
Da's me
P.s.- know where i will be fishing for the next month ;D

Thanks rhino, but I think I am done for the year.
I have surgery in 5 days, and I'd better get ready for it.
Would love to fish with you sometime though.

Take care Milo and recuperate quickly....I'm always envious but never tire of seeing the pictures you post with that fly reel of yours.

Actually it's just starting for those that like some solitude while fishing ;D but that will end when the first steelhead is plopped on Fred's scales :'(
and yeah, speedy recovery Milo!

Went out this morning and, like others have said, it was very slow. Still some Chums moving through but most were way past their prime. Time to focus elsewhere and look forward to Steelhead season.

Hey Steely, you should hit rivers north of the Fraser River. ;) :D ;D

I never stop this time of year. its good practice getting slower days and more used to the slow days. More exploring and the transition is perfect :D always gets me pumped up for steel
