Post by: island boy on October 22, 2012, 08:04:29 PM
anybody been out? taking my son down to gill on the weekend for a fire and hotdogs. would it be worth it to chuck out a bar rod? also anyone tried bar fishing roe in the canal? just want to try something different. one more thing, one person anchored in a river are you allowed to fish 2 rods?

One person in a boat with two rods only applys in a lake, not a river.

My neighbor has been out bar fishing on the Fraser a fair bit lately. He is not able to walk far to get away from the crowds on the Vedder so he has been enjoying the more relaxed pace. Usually a few regulars still out there this time of year but few and far between. He has hooked lots of chum, couple springs and a coho in the last couple weeks.

If you are going to bar fish then bar fish the lower Fraser, the action is great during incoming or high tide right now. Use roe and you should be set. Good luck!

Non-tidal portion can be just as productive as the tidal portion, sometimes better.

Here are some photos of a trip GoFishBC crew recently did.
