Got to the river around 7am and noticed the islands around the canals were all missing. Well, I decided to try another spot but got to Bergman and noticed the brown stuff coming down.

My wife tagged along with me today and I am sure she was secretly happy that this would be a short day.
Little did she know, a fisherman always have a Plan B.
When I got close to Mission, instead of turning left to go to Maple Ridge, I made a detour to the north side of the Fraser.
When I got there, I noticed the water level was just perfect with very few fishermen.
I walked down to the river and noticed 3 fishermen to my right. After awhile of fishing, they left with one guy remaining.
I flicked my baited hook and after a couple of casts, my float took a dip. The battle was on and after awhile, I noticed the stripes- a chum.
Well, at least I got to play a fish I thought.
Soon after that, the older guy on the other side of the river hooked and release another chum.
It was funny, after the 2 chums the next hookups were all cohos. Both of us started to bang cohos after cohos for about 3 hours.
The hits were nothing compared to the Vedder as they just take the float completely down without hesitations.
The sun started to hit the river at around 11:00am on and off and the bites seem to follow that pattern. Shade= fish. Sun= no fish!!!!.
When I left around 12:00, I noticed that the older gentleman was still hooking them.
Not bad for a day that I thought was going to end with nothing.

gorgeous rod and reel, but I think you should cap it off with a nicer float. not that it would get any more fish.
