Either i have no idea what im doing or theres not much to catch at the end of the pier. hootchies, jigs, and some smaller spoons had me with nothing after 3 hours. tide was up too. Anyone have any tips for White rock pier for success. P.S. Best part of day was watching officers ask the asian men with their crab traps for their licenses and all of a sudden theyre not theyre crab traps ;)

I haven't fished there since I was little but we used to use bits of hot dogs and all we would catch where bull heads. Still had fun though. Used to catch a lot of crab there as well. Not sure what much more there is to catch out there.

Did they confiscate the traps since no one around claimed the traps to be theirs?

Any kind of meat/bait will get you sculpins(bullheads) on bottom. Also some rock cod amongst the rocks on the breakwater. Small hooks and a piece of worm, bread dough or corn will get you pile peach and shiners amongst the pillings with a small float. Crab could also grab your bait on bottom. Have seen a cutthroat caught there too so that's also a slight possibility but highly unlikely. Have fun :)

Nice flounder in the winter. This year, I caught one 12 incher on new years day.
Just bottom fish shrimp anywhere. Maybe try sight fishing.

You can catch hatchery coho off the pier as well.....

I saw a yellow eel chasing needlefish once. Still can't identify it
