I could only get away for 4 days:
Day 1 - Great if I wanted to fly a kite, but I wanted to fly fish. Windy, COLD!
Day 2 - This was the day I promised to help my buddy (his cabin I stay at) to mill some of that pine beetle"denim" wood from logs to lumber. WAY too windy, COLD!
Day 3 - Raining monsoon style. Windy, COLD!
Day 4 - Started out rainy, graduated to thunder storms all around. We finally got out for 4 hours that evening when the weather broke a bit. 3 fish, biggest was a shiny 15 incher. apparently a whale for that lake. Got windy, COLD!
This morning, I got up, looked at the lake at 530, not windy, but cold and fish leaping all over the place. 730, I had to hit the road.
On the plus side I read a book, we went out cruising around on his super duper golf cart, saw a ton of deer, hawks, eagles and the FREAKING LOONS! >:( and I learned how to mill lumber with a portable mill. Next time, I'm hoping for fish

Ya that's a beautiful area isn't it?
I remember last year we drove the rough road to Dominic lake to checkout the resort but it seamed quite rundown and only available for year rounders.
Always amazed how the ice off on those lakes is usually late May and its only a few hours from Vancouver

Sounds like most of my fishing trips up country so far this year. Especially working on the cabins. Going back up in a week. At least the cold and wind keeps the bugs down.
