ANYBODY EVER BEEN HERE FOR BASS FISHING? THINKING ABOUT GOING FOR MY FIRST BASS :) INFO AND TIPS APPRECIATED

Last time I was there (late fall) there was no water.
-
Does anybody out there have a current report on water level? I would expect high level but???
-
Water Level is quite low and have not seen a fish caught or even sunning its self in the past 2 summers, There are much more productive spots close, try the Pitt back waters and Silvermere in Mission, plenty of fish.
Thanks for the update adanac. I'll give some Pitt backwaters a better try - briefly tried sturgeon slough Tuesday with no luck
Silvermere seems too troublesome, what with the aggressive homeowners.
-
Try Fishtrap Creek or Mill lake in Abby
-
TWU Pond will get you your first. For sure.

Amazing the kinda info ppl put up here. Sheesh. Okay. So here's the truth: Minnekhada had low water levels for a few weeks only, while they were rebuilding or repairing the dam. It got filled right back up again. A lot of bass left the pond probably, ending up in the creek and the Widgeon slough. Buttt...that smaller and deeper pond next to the path, was holding a lot of Bass, when the rest of the pond was drained. It was the only place left for them to hang out basically, until the entire pond was filled up again.
I fished in that back pond twice when the larger pond was drained. It was non-stop action. I caught a couple 1.5 lbers. And a few smaller bass. It was like having a whole bunch of bass all holding in one pool.
Ppl have said there are some other fish there. Haven't seen or caught anything but bass. I think there are in fact some large carp, as I've seen some huuuge wakes and splashes sometimes. And it's not like Minnekhada has a ton of bass either. I'm guessing a few dozen at the most. I fished Minnekhada a lot the last two summers, and the fishing is great, once the sun starts to go down. But it's not a comfortable place to be when the sun starts going down, as there's quite a bit of wildlife in the area, and a lot of mosquitos. Great, now I feel like going there today. I dunno if it's too early for bass still? Anyone know?
Ray and Damien are right.
Fishtrap creek in Abbotsford is full of bass, and it's so easy to catch them there. Use a worm and bobber even, and you'll have one on almost every single cast, if you know where to look.
TWU is good too - just weedy.
Sturgeon slough is a waste of time, everyone seems to get skunked there.
Pitt Marsh area is good, but not as good as it used to be apparently. Its better if you have a boat for the marsh.
Silvermere is really good. Even from shore. I have never seen so many bass in one place ever. But ya, too much drama.
