Seen this on the news the other night and could not believe the disrespect. WHY are you driving your boat so close to this cat? Cant you just veiw and enjoy from a distance that would be common sense.
The alternative to what luckily happened would be that the cougar DID make it on board and the guys had to beat it with a paddle and kill it to defend themselves from a animal that was minding its own business but is now scared and confused.
Wacked !

how do you know that it didn't swim towards the boat?

I was thinking that maybe the current swept it out and when it saw the boat it tried to get on cause it was dead tired. I've seen this happen with dogs and a deer. They were rescued no questions asked but a cougar noooo too dangerous.

If the couger had got on board they all would have jumped off the boat and the couger would have a free ride. cougers like water and can swim very well and travel around looking for game. i dident like the way they were treating this animal and the prop was close a few times, they could have gone well clear of it anytime.

cuz it looks like the cat is swimming and not running on water. You know they ran up close to get video.

Don't think so! Looking for a fix of Island deer. They don't take the ferry over to the broken Islands! Too expensive! ;D

Recently watched that boating tv show that comes on Sat.'s at 11 am & it showed a lynx ( bobcat ) that got onto the boat.
It was swimming in the lake ( one of the Great Lakes )
& they got too close to it.
Luckily they had a cabin HT.
They did not show how they got the lynx off the boat but the guy said "something " about prodding it off. ( maybe pointing paddles at it etc made it jump back in the water.)
Polar bears deer moose etc go on these long swims...but sometimes the animals do get in trouble.
Remember seeing a vid where some deer were so exhausted they were helped on board.
The deer just layed on the deck till they were released on land.
Do remember a seal jumping into a boat with people.
Trusted the people as a whale(s) were in the area waters :o
