Title: Capilano River, May 5th 2012
Post by: fic on May 05, 2012, 11:07:18 AM
C'mon fishies!  None for me today.  I tried 3 different spots and saw no fish and, didn't see anybody with fish either.  Tons of people were out there crowding this one popular spot. The garbage situation wasn't bad where i was.  I was looking for a garbage can to throw away this broken rod tip I found in the river, but couldn't find any.  So it came home with me.

Was out at first light, expectant and optimistic as fishermen usually are. Fished in the canyon till 10:30ish and didn't see one other person. Also didn't see any fish rising either but I did manage to catch a late winter run steelhead, hatchery doe of about 6 to 7 lbs and made sure to safely release her so that she may continue on her journey.

I did have a couple nibbles during my fishing trip but they were very subtle and failed to yield a blueback. There are some in there that I'm sure of, just not in great numbers yet. In time, my fellow friends, in time !

I have been out for a few hours at a time these last few days and have a hooked a few. They are just getting started and should be getting better everyday!
