The Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Societies 36th cleanup (over a ten year period)is in the books as we had around 150 people take part and they got a good haul of garbage.
We had a few fishers of the river take part but I always feel the amount of anglers that fish the Chilliwack Vedder we would see more attend but I realize many have busy lives on the weekend. Also I know many do cleanup line etc. when they are out on the river what is excellent. Kudos to those that do.
For those that wish to attend the second cleanup of the year it is in July 14 with more info at www.cleanrivers.ca.
Thanks to all the directors, volunteers, George Shaw of Chilliwack Tim Hortons (for the coffee and goodies), City of Chilliwack, Fraser Valley Regional District, First Class Disposal, Chilliwack Fish and Game Protective Association, Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve and Hub International all major sponsors of the cleanups.
Chris, chair of the CVRCS
