Just renew my fishing license today. Want to remind everybody that April 1st is around the corner. Tight line.

Huh, you need a licence to fish in Canada??? ;D ;D ;D

Can't buy it till after April 1st... I had the same problem last year
-
Get it from the tackle store directly I guess, I always do that. We bought the saltwater (one-day) from online once and ended up being charged three times so have not used the system since. The freshwater system is very reliable.

Thanks for the reminder. Even as computer illiterate as I am I was able to do it this morning. ::) ;D It is a very convenient system but what bothers me why this system allows one to print more than one license, not that anyone on this web site would take advantage of this.
Who would need to take home more than 10 steelhead or chinooks during the one year the license is good for?
-
Chris, I print more than one licence not with the intent of keeping more than my limit of steelheads or springs per year but in case I lose mine. (for the record I have not retained a steelhead this year). Yesterday I was on my way to fish a local river when I realize that I had left my wallet at home. Not to worry I thought as I have another copy in my fishing vest. Then I realize I was wearing another vest. :( :( Fortunately I keep a copy with my car insurance. Walked back to my car, got my backup licence and went fishing

I do the same thing. Car, wallet, backpack etc... I don't fish for steelhead and dont keep springs. Bending the rules a bit kinda like driving 10km over the limit.

If you get checked by a CO don't tell them that you have more than one license as it is illegal. You can only print/buy a second license if you lose yours.

OK, where can one see this. Maybe I should look in the regulations before I ask. :-[

My understanding is that only applies to the tidal water fishing licence, not the freshwater fishing licence. I could be wrong, but just recalling what I was told when this discussion came up a few times in the past. I'll let Chris look into it. ;)

You make it sound like as if it is by choice. ;D

OUCH ! :)

Come April 1 I usually buy tidal and non-tidal fishing licenses plus steelhead, salmon and classified water tags . Also, hunting license with Big Game tags, Fraser Valley and Migratory Game bird permits are another yearly ritual which I buy. ::)

You can buy both before April first, just make sure you choose April 1 2012 as the start date or you will get the "No license available" error.

salt is now up and running

Remember to bring your new license if you are fishing tomorrow ..
