Title: Chilliwack River, March 3rd 2012: Close but no cigar
Post by: CohoMan on March 03, 2012, 12:40:48 PM
Went out today and on my third cast, flloat dipped funny and fish on!!!! I then realized that my rod tip got caught behind a tree branch!!!!

When I got it out, the line went slack and fish gone!!!!!

The wind picked up and it was not easy to fish so we decided to call it a day...it was just so miserable!!!

I hear that. I hooked into a monster today and gave me a couple very nice leaps and it was a big sucker. Then it tried to take off and I had nowhere to go and I guess gave too much pressure and my 20lb mainline snapped. I could have cried, it was at least a 15lb'er. Then the wind forced us out too.

Twas the day of the lost fish..

I braved the elements on the lower river from first light till 2 pm. Had one takedown in an unlikely looking side channel, after a brief tug of war in which I could see the fish flashing it spit my roe bag and hook.
