Can anyone give me some tips on how to keep these alive, I currently have about a dozen in a plastic container of sand and salt water.
-
keep it in the fridge it will last couple of days

Ive always just left mine dry on some wet sea weed. They last only 3 days but I find they stay firmer then under water. I wouldnt recommend keeping them under salt water unless you have enough water to change out twice a day as the water will become toxic. This will keep them going 4-5 days in my experience. Also some guys use damp saw dust but I havent tried this method.

i use the saw dust or damp paper towel, you just need to keep them out of there own urine or whatever liquid comes out of them and they will last a good 4 - 5 days. wouldnt put them in water.

I lined a stryofoam container with a piece of paper towel, put in about 12-18 bugs, then cover with another piece of paper towel, and finally put on the lid. Keep in the fridge. Will last up to a week

Easy to have them last 2 weeks if you cycle the water properly in their container. Keep some moist paper towels in with them to hold some moisture in the container as well. It's their urine/feces that kills them so that's the key to having them last longer. I usually fill a couple jugs with salt water from the ocean to rinse them off with each day.

Thats what we used to do as well.

So floatfisher you're actually keeping the bugs submerged or just damp on the paper towel and washing them off?
Always willing to try a better method

In a bucket place some paper towels that have been moistened with the salt water. Next place the ghost shrim then a single layer of moistened paper towels again. Each day I'll change out the paper towels and a quick rinse of the ghost shrimp in a strainer with the salt water to clean their bodies.

Thanks for clearing that up floatfisher next time I will try that method for sure

floatfisher is correct.layers of p towels works great but just keep the towels moist in sea water and layer them on the bugs.6 bugs p towel on top anouther layer of bugs and so on.in fridge. they like cold.caught some great fish on old stinkie bugs dont be scared to use them the work.they might make your hands smell funny like you hade some strange stuff last night but it does wash off.
