Title: Police Chopper crashes in Chilliwack
Post by: silver ghost on January 17, 2012, 08:25:49 PM
Anyone else wondering what the commotion was down on Vedder road today?

Myself and Fishin-Squirrel were packing up just outside of Freds when we saw some 9 odd police vehicles - trucks, SUVs, Van, Crown Vic's speeding [or trying to] down Vedder road towards Cultus Lake. 2 Ambulances followed.

Apparently there was a helicopter crash and an RCMP pilot/civilian were killed!

I was also wondering what was going on as when I was heading towards hwy #1 west... four more police vehicles were stopping traffic in strange and seemingly unco-ordinated places near cottonwood mall...One officer looked pretty pissed off when his cruiser got stuck and got out and started thrashing his fist at motorists, lol

I know, I was pretty sad to find that out after being in that area only hours before.
