Well I am now 0 for 6 after today. Water was higher but very fishable. We covered a lot of water, witnessed one fish landed by someone across the river from us but that was it.

This weekend wasn't as productive as reports towards the end of the work week, at least in my travels. Did see a fair number taken though, including my fishing partner who took one each day. A lot more people out today as well.

I have been out 5 times now and only hooked into one so far. I have yet to see anyone else get one. I am off for 4 days starting Thursday and I wil be out there straight.

Haven't been skunked this year but still no steel. Today it was a 4lb superfat bull trout right at dusk to salvage the day.
Pretty fish and my first char on the Vedder.

Nice, Bulls are a much rarer catch out there IMO. Have seen/caught everything else but a bull trout on the vedder.

Was out fishing the lower section just after first light. Not as busy as I expected, I was happy. Weather was phenomenal, water conditions were near perfect with about 2-3 feet of vis. I thought it was a little bit high, but still worth the trip. I witnessed 3 fish killed and 1 wild released. Nicest one was a ~16lb buck caught by "a local". Things seemed to be the best around 10, as I did not see anything for the rest of the day until about 3pm or so. Most guys were "fenceposting" but me and my buddy fished a good chunk of the river and got some exercise ;D It was really cool seeing a bald eagle swoop down and pick up this smaller fish (about 1 lb, char maybe?) out of the water and fly off into the distance carrying it. Last time I went I also saw a beaver, I got close enough to make out what it was but when I pulled out the camera and inched closer, it smacked it's tail on the water and it dove under. That was pretty cool.
Catching was not that great given the ratio of fish to anglers...(probably about 4:50) but the experience was 10/10 ;) Gonna try this week hopefully before things get busy at school once again

Interesting, plus I was using a jig (and not roe).

Last salmon season I caught something like 20 bull trouts and most of them fatties in perfect shape. Previous years I was lucky if I caught one or 2 a year. It says well about the shape the Vedder is in.

that's great news, strange I haven't come across one out there yet...
