Title: gary point park tips
Post by: noobfisher on December 16, 2011, 01:38:43 PM
Been trying to fish off and on for the past couple of years at Gary Point Park without much success ... must be doing something wrong, haven't even caught a sculpin lol.

I've been targeting pikeminnow and bull trout without much success with various spoons.  Anyone have much luck so far this month?  Come to think of it, even when I was doing a lot of pink fishing this summer in Richmond I never saw a single pikeminnow .  Was thinking of going out for a few hours this weekend and tossing out some spoons again.  To cold for float fishing with bait .... would love to know people are seeing some action and it's just my technique.

garry point park can be tough for bull trout, i have tried numerous times to catch one there and have never suceeded, pikeminnow are rare at this time of year you want to go during august and september for the big ones. i guess if you keep going there ALOT you might get a bull trout, just keep chuckin spinners

Ya I would say so but it totally depends on what you feel comfortable with, I just really like that I can feel the action of a spinner better than a spoon and I can get a slower retrieve (what you want)

Other than these articles and videos, all I can say is to keep trying until you bump into one.

Bulls are definitely one of my favorite species. Caught quite a few this year.
