I was pleasantly surprised to see the river in such good shape on Saturday afternoon, a good 2 feet of visibility. It only took four drifts to get into my first fish of the afternoon, a gorgeous white-bellied chrome 12+ chum buck. Such a beautiful fish deserves to spawn so Back he went. In the next three hours beached another dozen chums all standard chum shape. The real surprise was the really nice coho that took my offering, also the dollies and whitefish. Really enjoyed the afternoon despite the wind which at times was wicked. All fish were released. I got up early this morning to the sound of roaring wind and driving rain. I went down to the river and couldn't believe it, the river was now the consistency of chocolate milk and filled the valley from bank to bank.I think that my next trip will be for the very elusive steelhead when the temperature drops and the river has a chance to clear.
