Hi
reading some report and post from fourm suggest that the coho run is over, even in very upper river of vedder, most turning dark and spawn stage
last time I saw coho caught in upper river were turning red. it's better to leave them alone I guess
however I still want to catch some fresh coho, is it worth a shot to spend like whole day shore fishing at Richmond part fraser to target the fresh ones?
or Im just totally wasting my time?

Chilliwack isn't the only place to catch coho, there are plenty of rivers where you can be catching coho well into November/beginning of December. As time goes on fish will get darker, but you should be able to get chrome coho in some rivers till December.

Yes, while they are fewer in number than the dark ones, I caught a chrome coho in the lower reaches of a small stream (that I dare not mention the name of here) on the north side of the Fraser on New Years Eve.

Some of the major coho rivers do have a run of bigger northern cohos later in the season, but as they are not numerous like during a major run, trying to intercept a fresh run in let's say lower Vedder is not so easy. Also the bigger cohos tend to move more at night/dawn/dusk, so targeting running ones during the day is likely a low probability game.

That's fantastic news. I'm going to miss the next couple of weekends and I've been feeling sorry for myself that last weekend was my last coho...and I didn't even land it! I've only been able to sleep at night by telling myself it was probably wild. :(
