Title: Murchison Falls, October 7th 2011

My buddy caught this Nile Perch last week at Murchison Falls.  40lbs.  He was using live bait.  He said he couldn't make too much noise trying to bring it in due to Nile crocodiles.

For those of you wondering where Murchison Falls is, because I was :  Murchison Falls, also known as Kabarega Falls, is a waterfall on the Nile. It breaks the Victoria Nile, which flows across northern Uganda from Lake Victoria to Lake Kyoga and then to the north end of Lake Albert in the western branch of the East African Rift.

Wonderful pic and report of an area most of us have certainly never fished. Thank You !!!!

Oops - forgot to mention it is in Northern Uganda.  Thanks for the info Atthezone!

That fish looks exactly like a baramandi. They are also found in Singapore Malaysia and Thailand.They spawn in brackish waters and are found mostly in rivers and in the sea close by to rivers.
They are great fighters and make very good table fare. In Thailand they are called "Pla Kapong" and are highly priced for they succulent white meat.I have caught many up to 35 lbs.

BARAMUNDI are my favorite table fish.  Had lots of it in northern Australia beats everything in Canada.
