So it looks like a nice weekend coming up, so we're probably taking the boat out for a cruise, and I'm definitely bringing my rods along. Are there some particular areas on the water that are good fishing right now? Ocean fishing is pretty vast, so I have no clue where to go. It'll also be a 30' cruiser, so we don't really wanna travel up any small tributaries or anything :) Indian Arm any good? or maybe anchoring near Ambleside would be good for salmon?

Do you have downriggers?
Because if you don't it's slim pickins. :'(

Yup, got downriggers. Just need a good location or two. I know it's an unwritten rule to not hand out fishing locations online, so anybody wanna PM me some good locations for this weekend?

There are no secrets locally
Ambleside-fish right on the bottom with Anchovies in a Green/Glo holder at least 60" behind a chartreuse flasher
QB Bell Buoy-fish with same between 40'-60'
Look for signs of Chum-either a low sideways jump or holding midwater off Spanish Banks.Troll dead slow with a Pink hootchie on a 30" leader behind any glo flasher. Not an easy fish to entice to bite.
There is nothing in Indian Arm except scenery.

the bell buoy can be good for northern coho .good place to start.

Its quiet out there.
Best to just soak crab and/or prawn traps and enjoy the sun.
