Title: Coho
Post by: Carich980 on October 10, 2011, 11:16:33 AM
I went for a nice Sunday drive for roughly 5 hours up every road I could think of and access using Google earth from Mission to Weaver Creek. I found a lot of No Trespassing signs and yellow gates looking for this elusive Frog water, Stopped by Inch creek as someone said there's a spot there, but having never fished it I couldn't see any way to access it & told me if you enter it wrong you'll get fined?

Ended up just fishing the Chehailis, not much there but spawners and small trout.

Are any of you guys fishing these secret spots actually catching any Fresh coho there yet?

Coho have been spotty on the north side, up until this weekend. Found good numbers of coho today.

Like you two I went looking north too, but unlike Speychucker I found nothing but old pinks and a few chum.

Don't think there is that many about Northside just yet, have only caught the odd jack coho fishing bait for Chinook, also saw some BC Hydro fish counters yesterday and they had seen barely any yet on their rounds.

hey guys when I use to fish the north side of the Fraser I waited until November. The coho run a bit later on that side and I find a good time to start fishing them is first week of November and into December.

You are right, but waiting is not an option.  The fish may be few and far between, but so are the fishermen.  Enjoy the solitude while it lasts.

I can't wait for it to get really cold and rainy.  Then I will get out there more.
