This is a reply to the previous thread fighting a fish with a strong river current. Yes, depending on where you are fishing the current does make it harder to land a fish. While the fish is still full of energy, play the fish off your drag system on your reel, and use your rod as a lever. Also what I try and do is to find a slower section of water to direct the fish into . This will give the advantage to you in fighting the fish as you try and land it. Also less stress on your rod, reel and the fish.
