Was out at first light at a bar near there.Tons of pinks a few socks.Saw some springs played and lost. 9am hooked and landed a 20 pound red.Put on ice.Broke out my Sage 8 wt at the confluence of a nearby flow and using pink muddlers was into 40 plus fish in the clear water. The experience was enhanced by the fact there was no one else where I was fly fishing. Some were quite chrome. All were released in the water.Stop for lunch back to the mainstem. Many more pinks still some socks being caught.Got my 2ND sock just at sunset was cleaning it when we received a visit from one of the locals in the form of a black bear.He got a drink then went back up the path.Made for a very nervous walk out as it was already getting dark in the heavy forest. All in all a splendid outing. Most fishermen I encountered were gentlemen like.Even if some of their skills left something to be desired.
