Title: Tidal Fraser River, September 14th 2011
Post by: Rodney on September 14, 2011, 11:10:09 AM
Fishing was so slow this morning that I almost fell asleep standing up. ::)

Nina hooked one right after we arrived at 6:45am but it wiggled off the hook. After that my rubber hook tickled four fish but the rod never bent.

What is the end use of all the Pinks being taken by Seine Boats? Canning? Table? Dog Food?

BC Ferries uses pinks in their buffets.  So do many hotels and golf courses etc.  I attend a lot of conferences at hotels, golf tournaments and other business events.  Small pink salmon steaks swimming in some sort of cream, lemon dill or other sauce is very common to see on the menu.

4 for me in 2 hours, east of the Port Mann. The guy beside me had 6 in about an hour and a half.
No sea lice, but one nice dinner plate sized male that fought really well :D

3 for me today in the Richmond area. A few more spit the hook, a couple right beside the boat. The pressure was on to produce as I hosted a dinner tonight. Beer battered. An annual indulgence with fries, zucchini, and onion rings. Mmmm.  ;D
