Many stories of grizzly encounters on those rivers. Just returned from a fishing trip up there actually... every other fisherman I saw was packin 12 guage loaded heat. Only saw a couple blackies and foxes, but heard many stories. Particularly on the Babine, shockingly guys will often fish nearby fishing bears. Seems like one is asking for trouble.
Did not fish the Babine this time but 7 years ago I remember running some purple flies with sinking line. Let's face it, it is still just fancy flossing.

I cant speak for the Babine but the Kitimat is dropping into nice shape after the heavy rains we had the past couple weeks. Coho fishing is getting good. Lots of fresh fish coming in.

I should mention that you wont find any Steelhead in the Kitimat at this time of year.

Sinking line on the Babine! OUCH!!!! Goes to show you,"If your not skating it, your hating it!" I would love for a member on this form to show me how to floss a steelhead with a dry fly on the surface of the H2O! 8)
