Title: Osoyoos Lake
Post by: Ned on August 08, 2011, 03:36:36 PM
Just heading up on August 9th and ready to try a bit of this lake. I caught a few nice bass last year, so I'm ready to have a go again. I have a boat, so are there recommended spots/shoals to try? Lures? I know that since it's 30+ weather, the rainbows will most likely be deep down, so any ideas on rigging?

Thanks :)

I caught a few really nice bass on the fly a couple months back (19 inches being the biggest - put up an awesome fight).  I focused on the north side shore of Haynes Point about 40 yards out going up and down the spit.  I was trolling a micro leech of all things and found success.  They feel great on 4 weight.  Caught a few small bows and few perch too.

I've caught some bass at the North end. Had some success with tube baits cast towards shore.

I saw a huge basss caught just North of the highway bridge one midsummer afternoon when we were swimming nearby.

Good luck.

In addition to all species in Osoyoos Lake, the sockeye return is excellent again this year. There may be a 2 week opening for reckies later this month. There are even some reds returning.
