Title: Shuswap Lake, August 4th & 5th 2011
Post by: fishingbuddha on August 05, 2011, 04:39:54 PM
Went back to the shuswap with aspirations to hook into a 10lb + rainbow.
First day, weather was great, boat traffic was heavy but right off the bat we hooked into a 3 lber and a large 8-9 lb laker.
By the end of the first day ended up landing 6 rainbows, 4 kokanee and 1 laker with largest rainbow being 3 lbs.
Second day did not have much success. Only fished the morning but hooked and landed 1 rainbow and several kokanee. Once again the largest being 3 lbs.
Lost some big ones on this trip using salmon flashers and hoochies. Most of the fish caught on the apex lure.
Saw a spring jump today in the lake so that would probably explain the large fish showing up on the sounder.

Great lake but getting too hot to fish during the day! I think thats a wrap for shuswap. Next trip will be to my favourite river in the caribou!
