the sumallo is still high but last weekend fishing it i did pretty well on a small black tom thumb and a small black and red leech

Nice to hear that, thanks for the info!

I was just at Lightning Lake last week. Water's pretty clear, enough that sometimes you can spot fish swimming around. I had success using a red rooster tail as a lure.

oh and i forgot to mention water is clear about 4ft vis in sumallo

Where on the Sumallo were you having success? And any particular spots in LL? What about the other lakes around there, any success at all? I know Flash lake has typically has had some good summers in the past.

I fished pretty close to the trail going to the Lightning Lake campsite. If you're coming from the campsite, take the left fork and there's a worn trail about 10 meters past it. Pretty shallow water and it's clear enough to see fish on the bottom. I just cast and retrieve lures to the middle of the lake. Got a bite on my first cast :).

Oh, by the little creek that runs under the footbridge? Also, try flycasting little mosquitos in Lone Duck Bay...always something in there :)

Yep, that's the spot. Almost got eaten alive by mosquitoes hiking around there too :P.
