Post by: Sea Nymph on July 08, 2011, 08:23:00 PM
I'm looking at purchasing a portable gps unit mainly for the salt water and was wondering which unit members would recomend?

I would look for which gps has the best charts/maps. If it's mainly for salt water you probably don't have to worry much about upgrades.

I use the garmin 60cs (great unit) but it's mainly for hunting. The 76cs is a waterproof equivalent. I don't know what sort of marine charts are available.

The Garmin colorado 300 is an awesome gps.  Very accurate with a nice size color screen.
